sessions

Thoughtful, evidence-based therapy for individuals, couples, families, and young people — tailored to you.

Real life. Real relationships. Real talk.

When life feels like a lot to navigate, sessions is a space to slow down, understand what's happening, and begin moving forward.

Most people start their journey here when they are:

  • Anxious or weighed down by constant worries

  • Feeling like the demands of family life outweigh the joy

  • Getting stuck in the same conversations with their partner

  • Seeing familiar patterns repeat in their relationships

  • Struggling to make sense of difficult experiences

  • Feeling sad, struggling to find motivation or energy to start the day

  • Carrying past experiences that still feel close

  • Wrestling with self-doubt or questioning their worth

  • Feeling unsteady during a major life change

  • Experiencing big emotions that feel hard to manage

How sessions Works

Starting therapy shouldn’t be complicated.

1 — Book a consultation

We start with a brief consultation to talk about what's bringing you to therapy and whether working together feels like a good fit.

2 — First sessions

In the first few sessions, we take time to understand what’s been happening in your life and what you would like to shift or change.

3 — Ongoing work

From there, we work together at a pace that feels right for you, building insight, skills, and new ways of relating to yourself and others.

About sessions

sessions is a therapy practice grounded in the belief that people heal and grow through connection, understanding, and the right kind of support. We offer a calm, thoughtful space to make sense of what you’re experiencing and move toward meaningful change.

Our work is relational and evidence‑informed, drawing from approaches such as Emotion‑Focused Therapy (EFT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and attachment‑based and family systems work. Each session is tailored to your needs and the pace that feels right for you.

Sessions is led by Deborah, a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with over 20 years of experience in hospital and community mental health settings.

We’re based in Ottawa and offer in‑person therapy locally, as well as virtual sessions across Ontario.
